A Sheepherder Develops Level Headed Business Capacity.
Special to the Bee.
Great Falls, July 23.—George T. Rosall alias Rosatti was arrested today on the charge of swindling. Rosall had made arrangements with George Smith of Teton county for the purchase of $50,000 worth of sheep and land and had been negotiating the deal for ten days. He showed Smith a certificate of deposit for $59,000 on the Carbon county bank as evidence of his financial standing. The deal was about to be completed when Smith wired the Carbon county bank. He received the following telegram in reply: "Frank Rosall, alias Rosatti, alias something, is a proficient swindler. Arrest him if possible and advise Fergus county bank, also us. I want him if they don't get him. Hold him if possible and wire results. Signed, Burt Vaile, cashier."
Rosall is said to be the same man who last fall was about to buy $75,000 worth of property from Philip I. Moule of Fergus county, but could not complete the transaction because he had "forgotten his check book." The object of Rosall's actions is a mystery. He has been working as a common herder on a sheep ranch for W. K. Floweree "in order to learn the details of the business," and in his dealings with Smith evinced clever and level headed business capacity. He has made no money out of his trick so far and what his object was is not understood, unless his action be attributed to mental disability.
