Full Text
Benjamin Johnson, one of the pirates, lately advertised for running away with the schooner friendship, Capt. Lewis, bound from Portsmouth, in Virginia, to the island of St. Thomas, and murdering the Capt.-- Mate, Supercargo, and others belonging to the above vessel, was lately apprehended at Kingston, in Jamaica, and acknowledged the fact. It was expected that Joseph Twentyman, another of the murderers, would also be secured, he having sailed from Kingston to Montego Bay, as mate of a small vessel, and an express having been dispatched to apprehend him. Johnson declared that they had landed Morris Keaton, the third villain, at Hispaniola, but it was strongly suspected that Twentyman and he had murdered Keaton also, to secure to themselves a larger share of the booty.
