Cortland Farmer to Be Placed
on Trial for Murder of
Judge Pfeiffer
The case of the State of Nebraska against O. W. Langley, charged with the murder of Judge Christian H. Pfeiffer of Cortland, will be called for hearing in district court before Judge L. M. Pemberton tomorrow morning.
Twenty-one members of the regular panel of the petit jury will be examined in the selection of a jury. A special panel of 150 has also been ordered to report at the opening of the trial. It is expected that several days will be consumed in securing twelve men to try Langley.
Thirty-seven witnesses have been summoned by the state and ten or fifteen for the defense.
The state will be represented by County Attorney W. A. Vasey and H. H. Wilson of the law firm of Burkett, Wilson & Brown of Lincoln. Langley's interests will be in charge of Hazlett, Jack & Laughlin of this city and Judge W. G. Walker of Fayetteville, Ark.
