TUSKEGEE INSTITUTE, Ala. - Dr. J. A. Kennedy, president of the Tuskegee Tennis club and chairman of the local tournament committee, announced this week a partial list of committees which have been appointed to serve in connection with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the championships of the American Tennis association which will be played on the championship courts at Tuskegee Institute, August 18-23, 1941.
Dr. F. D. Patterson, president, Tuskegee institute, is announced as ex-officio chairman, and Charles G. Bevans as secretary.
Those who will head important committees are: Captain Walter J. Love, regulations and parking; Edward H. Adams, ball boys and grounds; Warner Kennedy, umpires' chairs, measuring stick, etc.; Capt. Charles Ecton, Mrs. Jessie Parkhurst Guzman, housing; G. W. A. Johnston, George C. Busby, prizes; A. Freeman Bradley, entertainment; Guy R. Trammell, transportation; Dr. H. F. Davis, score cards and draw sheets; Lloyd Isaacs, tickets; Edward W. Ramsay, cards of admission; Capt. R. S. Darnaby, entries, press and publicity; J. H. Palmer, general information; Dr. J. A. Kenney, general health; Mrs. C. G. Bevans, refectory; Mrs. Christine Evans Petty, ushers; Mrs. Amelia C. Roberts, reception; Mrs. Jessie H. Abbott, chairman of entertainment for juniors; Richard B. Collins, score boards and match schedule boards; P. H. Polk, photographer.
