BALTIMORE, JULY 14.

The particulars of the riot which took place at Fell's Point, on Friday night last, are said to be nearly as follow. In the first part of the evening, some sailors belonging to the Insurgente frigate, entered a house in the street termed "Oakum Bay," where several musicians resided who usually entertained sailors, by allowing them to dance; one of the company behaving unruly, was ordered out, and in his passage towards the door, broke a pane of glass. A few moments after, this sailor returned with several of his ship-mates, and also a number of citizens, who, seeing the mob collect, and fearing that the peace might be broken, followed with a determination of assisting the civil authority, in preserving order. When the mob arrived at the house, and before any hostile operations were commenced on it, some person discharged a loaded musket from the window, and fifteen buckshot entered the face and neck of a sailor named John Johnston, of the Insurgente; a part of the mob then dispersed, leaving the dying man on the ground; and two or three citizens, whose humanity excited them, at the risque of their lives, to remove Johnston, had scarcely lifted him, before another gun was discharged which wounded Mr. Enoch Brown, midshipman, and a Mr. Draper, each very severely, in their left hands; an attempt was then made to force the doors of the house, when three other muskets were successively discharged, which wounded two other persons. The house was then entered, and about ten men seized and carried with the body of Johnston, to the watch house : On the following morning, several sailors, with the defenders of the house, underwent an examination before Job Smith, Esq. and a number of them were committed for trial.
