From a LONDON PAPER.

A Question being proposed to the East-India Company respecting the intended alteration on the Duty on TEA, was answered as follows. "The Court of Directors do not mean at present to enter into any fresh Agreement, or Contract, with Government with respect to the indemnity on Tea, and they are of opinion that, at the expiration of their present agreement, the old Duty of one Shilling per Pound will again take place, & the Drawback cease. They do not imagine that any additional Duty will be laid on Teas, but do agree to indemnify the Holders in case any such Duty should take place on stock in hand, cleared before the expiration of the Agreement with Government, which terminates the 5th of July next."
