The Jenkins Arrest.
To the Editor of the Union:
Fearing that some misapprehension may exist in the minds of Mr. Consul Jenkins's friends as to the authorship of the article or synopsis which appeared in your yesterday's item of "Local News," and paragraphed "Arrest Extraordinary," I beg to inform all whom it may in any wise concern that the same was draughted by me days back—before the said Jenkins arrived here—and handed to you for your information in the event he should venture on this soil.
