The steamer Golden Gate brings us La Opinion de Sinaloa of Feb 8th, and the Boletin Oficial of Mazatlan, dated Feb. 22nd. From these sources we learn that the conservatives under Tozada had captured and burned the town of Escuinapa, a town of something over three thousand inhabitants, hundreds of whom were slaughtered. The Governor of Sinaloa marched from Mazatlan on the 14th Feb., at the head of 1400 men to meet Tozada; but learning that he had retreated to Rosario, marched back again. Two Spaniards, respectively named Cajeu and Nune, had united themselves with an Indian chief named "Pajaro Azul," or Blue Bird, and at the head of a considerable force were committing terrible ravages in Sinaloa. A detachment of 900 men had been sent to chastise those parties. The conservatives had evacuated the city of Zacatecas.
