WINS HIGHEST HONORS
Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Beckett, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Mann and Mrs. R. B. Tyre motored to St. Petersburg last evening to attend the graduating exercises of the 1918 class of the City hospital. The exercises were held in the Christian church, where an enjoyable program was rendered.
The principal address of the evening was made by Rev. Boyce Tupper, D. D., LL. D., of Philadelphia, who is a speaker of rare power and charm.
His address was full of good sense, delivered in a masterful way, and was particularly pleasing to the large audience. Following the exercises at the church a reception was held at the Nurses' home, where the Tarpon visitors were received by Miss Catherine Edwards, daughter of Mrs. E. H. Beckett, who is a student nurse in the hospital.
Especially worthy of note, in this connection, is the fact that Miss Clarice Izetta Silvey, one of the graduates, in a recent examination before the state board, made the highest mark ever made by a nurse in this state.
Miss Silvey is an exceptionally bright and charming young woman, and is an honor to St. Petersburg and Pinellas county.
