Letter from Vienna, Octob. 12.

We are assur'd that the Court has resolv'd to take 30,000 Men of the Troops belonging to different Princes of the Empire, into its Service for next Campaign against the Turks. Prince Lubomirski has offer'd to raise three Regiments, on his own Estate in Poland, for the Emperor's Service against the Ottoman Porte. Prince Christian de Lobkowitz, who so gallantly distinguish'd himself in the late War of Italy, set out last Week to go and command the Troops in Transylvania: from whence our last Advices are, that the Turks were assembling in great Numbers near Bucharest in Wallachia; and that it was believ'd that General Ghilani will be oblig'd to abandon that Province entirely, to avoid being surrounded by the Infidels. We have had no News these few Days past from the Imperial Grand Army in Hungary; but we have Advice that the Veldt-Marshal Count Khevenhuller was retired with his Body of Men towards Oriova. The Man of War the St. Charles is either taken or burnt by the Infidels. The current Report is, that Commissary General Count Nefelroth, and the Generals Leutrum and Charles Palfi are dead in Hungary. Our Army found 50 Pieces of Brass Cannon and a great Quantity of Provision in Uitza, at the Siege of which Place the Prince of Modena, the only Volunteer of Distinction that remain'd in the Army, highly distinguish'd himself; the Left Sleeve of his Coat was carried away by a small Cannon-Ball, and a Grenadier killed by his Side; that Prince has gain'd the Esteem and Love of the whole Army by his gallant and generous Behaviour.
