May 7. We learn from Paris, that, among the Jettons for the Year 1752, the Devices of those for the Royal Treasury are, a Fountain running, with these Words, Fluit æternumque manet, i.e. It flows, and ever shall. For the Marine, an Halcyon's Nest on a calm Sea, with a Brood of young Birds ready to fly, with this Motto, Gaudet prole nova, i. e. She rejoices in her Young. For the Colonies, Mercury, the God of Trade, with his Caduceus, adorn'd with Flower-de-Luces flying over the Ocean, with these Words, Utrique facit Commercia Mundo, i. e. He unites the Commerce of both Worlds.
