Epidemic of Cholera in the Philippines

When R. G. Case, a station dealer in the city of Manila, left the city for Seattle, the average number of deaths from cholera was thirty a day. Cholera is raging in the Philippines in a more aggravated form than at any other time since American occupation occurred. Mr. Case says the epidemic:

"There has not been such an epidemic of the disease in the islands, the natives say, in many years. In 1901 they had their worst siege, and then, they tell you, when the death rate reached ten a day they were fearful. However, for a week or ten days it will reach forty a day in Manila, and what it was in the other parts of the islands they are unable to say."
