A LEAP-YEAR VICTORY
WOMAN STUDENT WINS HISTORY PRIZE IN CONTEST OPEN TO ALL CATHOLIC COLLEGES OF THE UNITED STATES.

Appropriately for this leap year Miss Marie T. Marique, a student at the College of Mount St. Vincent, New York, has won the $100 prize, offered by the United States Catholic Historical Society, in the second annual intercollegiate contest open to all the Catholic colleges of the United States.

Fourteen institutions, including St. Paul Seminary, took part in the competition.

The subject of the essay was, "Catholic Day, March 25, 1634." The second best paper was submitted by Mr. W. D. Power of St. Ignatius College, Chicago, and the third by Miss Marie A. O'Connell, of the College of Mt. St. Vincent, New York.

The details of the next contest will be announced in June.
