ATTENDANCE IS ON INCREASE AT M. E. REVIVAL
"Who is on the Lord's side?" was the opening remark of Rev. McIntyre at the revival service at the Methodist church. "It would not do for me to answer the question for I might be mistaken," he continued, but I will let the word of God answer it. God knows who is on his side.
"God says that he that is not with me is against me. He draws a straight, undeviating line. We cannot straddle the issue; we must get both feet on the same side of the fence. If we are not on God's side, we are on the devil's side, for He that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
"He that loveth not his brother is not on God's side, for he that loveth not his brother abideth in death. We must love our neighbors as ourselves.
"If we have a beam in our own eye while we are trying to correct the fault in others, we are not on God's side. When we go out to bind up the wounds of the world, we must go in the likeness of God.
"If we are not at peace with the world, we are not at peace with God. for God says whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer and hath not eternal life abiding in him. The man with ill will in his heart is not on God's side. That is the truth, not because I say so but because God says so.
"God says love not the world nor the things that are in the world. The love of God and the love of the world cannot abide in the same heart. If the church kept people out as late at night as some of the worldly amusements, they would never go back to church. We need a revival that will take our eyes off the things of the world and center them on the meek and lowly Nazarene.
"We must cast the beam from our own eyes. We must be better than the people we try to help. Men will despise you if, while you are in sin, you go to them and speak to them about their souls. They may be gentlemen enough not to insult you. but they will despise you just the same. There is a wide difference between an active workers in the church and a co-laborer with God."
Services again this evening at 7:30. There is a noted increase in the attendance which is growing with each meeting.
