UN RULE FOR "MASAILAND"

Nairobi, Kenya (ANP)—The International Court of Justice at the Hague may be petitioned to declare the 37,000 square mile of plains in the Great Rift Valley between Kenya and Tanganyika as "Masailand", home of the 120,000 member Masai tribe, and declare it a United Nations trusteeship territory. Reason is the Masai do not want to become a part of an independent and African-dominated Kenya. The tribe holds that rights to their land under treaties of 1904 and 1911 prevent the British government from forcing them to join Kenya.
