Worcester, Mass., March 17.—A second meeting of the parishioners of the Notre Dame church was held in this city to-day to protest against the sale of the old church. After the meeting last Sunday the purchase of the Fox Mills estate was made on the following day. The parish has been in a state of excitement ever since. It was announced that the pastor would state his reasons to-day but he simply gave notice of a meeting to be held next Sunday under the call of Bishop Beaven.
The parishioners met after mass in the hall of the Oldest French society. The meeting resolved to ask that the parish be allowed to appoint a committee of three to manage the finances of the parish. A committee was chosen to present the resolutions to Bishop Beaven. It will be done this week.
