Matter
Will Be Argued Before Judge English
at Point Pleasant Thursday.
Late yesterday afternoon the attorneys
of the Wheeling & Belmont Bridge Company,
as required by law gave notice to
the attorney for the Wheeling Island
Ferry and Packet Company, Mr. W. H.
Hearne, that they had appealed from
the decision recently given by Judge
Paull of the circuit court, in the injunction
proceedings brought by the
bridge company against the ferry company
to restrain the latter from operating
the ferry boat Charleston.
The notice to the ferry company attorneys
states that the matter will be
argued before Judge English of the
supreme court of appeals in chambers
at Point Pleasant, Thursday of this
week. The bridge company will be
represented by Messrs. Henry M. Russell
and A. J. Clarke, while the Islanders'
interests will be in the hands of Messrs.
W. H. Hearne and J. B. Sommerville.
The bridge company, it is said, has
decided to push its fight against the
ferry to the bitter end, and will not
quit until every legal proceeding has
been brought into play.
