Stanton Welsh, of St. Clair Shores, stood mute upon arraignment this morning before Justice Donald J. Parent on a gambling charge and a plea of not guilty was entered for him by the court.
Circuit Judge Neil E. Reid Tuesday ordered Welsh returned to justice court for examination at the request of Earle M. French, attorney for the accused man.
Bond of $500 was continued and Welsh was ordered to appear for examination on Friday.
Welsh was arrested Friday, June 6 when state police swooped down on a bingo game at Jefferson Beach. He is charged with maintaining and operating a gaming device.
