FROM THE SAVANNAH GEORGIAN OF OCTOBER 15.

One of the crew (the steward) of the ship General Carrington which arrived here on Sunday from Providence, died soon after her arrival, and another (the mate) now lies dangerously ill. On examining the vessel it was found that part of the cargo consisted of cabbages, which were in a state of decomposition, the noxious effluvia of which had no doubt created the sickness of the two individuals. She was yesterday ordered from the wharf into the stream, where she now lies.
