We are without any local news.
Since our last some German papers have arrived;
also letters from the French coast to
the 16th. It would be insulting our readers
to repeat all the rumors that have been circulated
in consequence. Suffice it to say that
as preparatory to the expected warfare between
France and Russia, but they present
no new fact of importance. An Aid-de-Camp
of Alexander passed through Magdeburg on
the sixth of March, on his return to St. Petersburg
from Paris. The private letters
state, that the Emperor of Austria was to quit
Dresden, where he proposed to wait the arrival
of Bonaparte, and proceed to
Vienna about the 16th March.
The French letters mention nothing farther
respecting the discussions between France
and Russia, or of the intended departure of
Napoleon for the army in the North: but letters
from Holland mention that Le Brun (the
Duke of Placentia) was to leave that country
shortly for the French capital; and it was
