GOP Chairman William E. Miller has announced two key appointments in developing plan to reorganize and strengthen the staff of the Republican National Committee.
Louis R. Lautier, Chief of the Washington Bureau of the National Negro Press Association, was appointed Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Republican National Committee.
Grant Reynolds, attorney at law from White Plains, N.Y. and past Grand Basileus (President) of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, was appointed Counsel to the Chairman of the Republican National Committee.
These two appointments add a wealth of experience and talent to our staff," Chairman Miller said, and will greatly strengthen our drive to win the local and congressional elections of 1961 and 1962.
Mr. Lautier who will assist and advise the Chairman in the general areas of public relations, press relations and campaigning, has been chief of the NNPA Washington Bureau since 1945 and covered most of the major news stories of that time. He accompanied former Vice President Nixon on his 1957 African tour and covered the opening of the World's Fair in Brussels.
He is a member of the Congressional Press Galleries, the White House Correspondents Association, the National Press Club and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Mr. Lautier was appointed Assistant Director of Civil Liberties for the BPO Elks by Hobson R. Reynolds, Grand Exalted Ruler, at the Elks recent National Convention in New York City.
