Full Text
One of the gravest charges against the Herald of Freedom is, that the Democratic press are in the habit of copying largely from our columns; and from this it is argued that there must be something wrong in our paper. Will not the Republican press change their tactics a trifle, and correct our statements if erroneous or false, and not find fault because we publish the truth? Were ours a partisan journal, we have no doubt we should do as other partisan journals do: labor to suppress the truth; but as we never have nor never will publish a partisan paper, we shall never try to manufacture falsehood for a party, nor suppress truth because it is unwelcome to a party.
