ECONOMY, Ind., July 15.—Lon Cain
was given a surprise by his neighbors
Saturday night. Five gallons of de-
licious ice cream and cake were the
refreshments, with a whole lot of
pleasant talk thrown in.
Dr. A. L. and Mrs. Loop had as
their guests Sunday at dinner, Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Shively of Sugar Grove. Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Cain and son of String-
town, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Swallow and
son, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Greenstreet,
of Economy.
Attended Assembly.
Rev. Fred Greenstreet, Archie Man-
ning, Rena Clark and Mabel Harris
attended the Chautauqua at Muncie.
Saturday night and Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Nate Parker, Mrs. No-
ra Gibbs and children spent Sunday
with Webster relatives.
Mrs. Laura Flemming and daughter
Vera Flemming returned from India-
napolis Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Charley Ullery and
baby of Newcastle, were here Sun-
day.
Cora Mumbower
and son Forest,
Miss Mary Mumbower and Jesse Bal-
lenger of Windsor, were here Sunday.
J. W. Taylor returned from Rich-
mond Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Saunders are
the parents of a new girl baby.
Visiting Here.
Grandma Hinkle, Mrs. Nelson and
daughter and Mrs. Henry Hinkle of
Benton county are visiting Mr. and
Mrs. Will Williamson.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Williams and
son, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Hiatt and
Rufus Williams attended the Friends'
monthly meeting at Bloomingport Sat-
urday.
Mr. and Mrs. Tot Cranor and daugh-
ter Carrie, spent Sunday at Modoc.
Mrs. Lamb and Miss Edna
Lamb visited Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Lamb Sunday.
Rev. Lee Chamness preached the
funeral of Jonas Frame who died at
his home in Richmond avenue, Rich-
mond, recently. There were short
services conducted by the Rev. Cham-
ness at the home and regular services
at the Friends' church at Webster.
In Cincinnati.
Charley Edwards spent Sunday at
Cincinnati.
Mrs. Carl Chapman and children, of
Parker, were the Sunday guests of
Rev. G. W. and Mrs. Martin.
Miss Blanche Fennimore and How-
ard Fennimore are back from Muncie.
Miss Myrtle Martin is home after a
week's visit at Fountain City.
Lewis Chamness took the Civil Ser-
vice examination for Rural Route car-
rier Saturday.
