Of the approximately 170 cases that passed through Grady's Emergency Clinic from 8:00 a. m. to 10 p. m. at least three drew attention as being either coincidental or a bit humorous, or both.
Two people, including a police officer, wound up as basketball casualties, and were given emergency treatment and dismissed.
One was 15-year-old Austin Blackman of 305 Roy Street address. The youth had injuries to the right side of his head.
The small left finger of the long arm of the law was the second basketball casualty. Police officer Charles Harvey got treatment for his injury, and is expected to be back on duty.
Twenty-three-year-old John Henry Erwin, in accounting to admission clerks why he felt bad, said that he had fallen out from the effects of eating three cans of sardines.
