Full Text

Europe is at present in a very ticklish situation. Poland entirely disturbed about religion. The subjects of Spain so disgusted that the King reluctantly dares venture to his capital. Portugal quarrelling with its Grandees. France disturbed by dissensions between the King and some of its Parliaments. Sweden not quite at rest. Some active powerful states watching where the best bounty will fall. Germany going to hang all the witches and wizards. Geneva almost ruined. And England divided against itself, and the great at variance for the loaves and the fishes; not at ease about the Manila ransom, and uneasy about many other things. It is a pity that the powerful will not have some regard for the happiness and content of their Sovereign, and unite to make those nations feel our resentment who refuse to do us justice.
