NON-UNIONISTS ROUTED.

Tucson, Ariz., Aug. 28. Organized labor has defeated an attempt to establish the non-union shop and individual bargaining in this city.

The antis have taken down their non-union shop "white cards and have hoisted the white flag, and assure several sections of the trade union movement that "We never meant you." To this the unionists reply, "Dry your crocodile tears."

When the anti-union movement started large numbers of business and professional men enlisted. Organized labor refused to stampede, however, and the attack resulted in greater solidarity and a substantial co-operative movement that is backed by labor's purchasing power.

The result is shown in this statement by the Tucson Record, published by the Central Trades Council:

"At the inception of this movement the non-union shop cards were as thick as fleas on an itinerant pup. Now count 'em. You will not be carried into higher mathematics in doing so."
