Another Dead Baby's Body Is Discovered
The discarded dead body of a recently born baby girl was found in a vacant field Friday by a man scavenging the area for empty bottles.
Discovery of the infant's body brought a total of two such incidents this week
The body of a prematurely born baby, wrapped in paper on the inside of a shoe box, was found in the 2100 block on Simpson Road by a minister Wednesday.
Homicide Detectives C. J. Perry and H. H. Hooks reported that Eddie Mitchell, 38, of 528 Rhodes St. told them he was searching for bottles to sell in the 400 block of Henry St., SW, when he found the baby's body in a tin bucket, covered with a shopping bag and old newspapers.
