FRONTIERS OF RUSSIA, Feb. 10.

The emperor has just published an Imperial Ukase, signed by his own hand, wherein he forbids, under heavy penalties, after the first of this month, the wearing of frocks or coat after the French fashion, flannel waistcoats, round hats, queues tied with strings, half boots, large cravats and pantaloons, &c.

That the fashions of the republican French are as frivolous and despicable as these republicans themselves, is generally allowed. How absurd then is it to imitate them! The emperor of Russia has set an example, which is worth notice; and it merits the consideration of the fashionable world, whether it is not equally unworthy to put on one part of the livery of slaves as another. The bloody tri color being now confined to Filles de Joye and bullies, why should any other emblem of the same degenerate origin be retained by the friends of the United States?
