Eastern Capitalists Said to Have
Closed Deal For The
Property.

Lexington,
Ky., Feb. 27.—After three years negotiations a
syndicate of Wall-street capital-
ists, it is reported here have
practically completed arrange-
ments for the building of a big
dam across Dix river, twenty-five
miles south of Lexington, and
the erection of a mammoth power
plant for the distribution of elec-
tric power and light to the prin-
cipal Central Kentucky towns
and cities, including Lexington,
Richmond, Danville, Nicholas-
ville, Lancaster and Harrods-
burg.
The dam and power plant
projected will cost approximately
$1,500,000.
The Hon. L. B. Herrington, of
Richmond, member of the Ken-
tucky Legislature from Madison
county, has been representing the
syndicate in the negotiations, and
it was stated here Monday by a
prominent Danville citizen who
has been watching the progress
of the negotiations, that through
agents directed by Mr. Herrington the syndicate has recently
purchased Kennedy's mill on Dix
river and the ground surround-
ing it as a site for the proposed
dam and power plant and that
options have been taken on other
property in that vicinity.
