Full Text

"Par nobile fratrum!"

Britain & Algiers--Algiers & BRITAIN.

England, we all thought, had by her multiplied wrongs and outrages alienated all the powers on earth; all the civilized powers are, it is true, either arrayed directly against her, or, waiting with anxious suspense the turns and issues of the present aggressions--and the fate of war; but Algiers, feeling, like our Federalists, irresistible sympathies with her Brother, John Bull, has declared war against the United States!

Thus the world is likely to be again embroiled, civilized against the uncivilized: the pirates and barbarians against the advocates of "the freedom of the seas." It would be the height of weakness to admit the possibility of success on the part of the two grand piratical brothers.--Whig.
