Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Howard of Gaithersburg purchased a house in Woodfield from Mrs. Cora Burdette, and thereby hangs a tale, for this home was occupied by the Rev. and Mrs. Chester Haley and Rufus King, former assistant county agent.
Rufus King bought a house from Norman Burdette. Then the Army called Mr. King, so he rented his house to the Harley family, who settled in it last week. Of course, folks living in it previously had to find a place.
When all the moving was over, Mr. and Mrs. William Nicholson were in an apartment in Rockville; Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay McElFresh had established themselves in quarters adjoining their store; the Rev. Mr. Harley drew a long breath, looked up his house and took his family to Indiana to visit Mrs. Harley's family; and the community was welcoming Mr. and Mrs. Howard and their daughter, Annette. Mrs. Howard is a native of Woodfield and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archibald Thompson.
