CONGRESS.

The national legislature will assemble at Washington, on Monday next. The Senate will be composed of 40 members, of which 16 will be fresh hands. The House will be composed of 176, of whom the unprecedented number of 126 will be new members.

We look forward to the approaching session of Congress with no little interest and anxiety. Unexpected simultaneous efforts are making at the South and West to induce our government to such an interference in the affairs of the South Americans, as may lead to consequences the most serious to the country.
