JOB BIAS CAN BE ENDED PRESIDENTIAL COMMITTEES AGREE - The two Presidential Committees charged with carrying out the government's policy that there shall be no discrimination because of race, religion or national origin on work paid for by federal tax funds agreed in recent joint meeting that "there is continuing overall progress in the elimination of discrimination." and that "with continued vigor and determined efforts, discrimination in employment can be eliminated from the American scene."

The President's Committee on Government Contracts and the President's Committee on Government Employment Policy issued the joint statement.

The Committee on Government Contracts is concerned with elimination of discrimination in work done under Government contract and the Committee on Government Employment Policy seeks the end of racial and religious discrimination in Federal employment.

Vice President Richard Nixon is chairman of the Contract Committee and Maxwell Abbell is chairman of the Employment Policy Committee. They acted as co-chairmen of the joint meeting.
