Full Text

British Interference.
A Philadelphia paper states that a letter had recently been received by a respectable gentleman in Washington from a merchant in Vera Cruz, in which the writer remarked that the movement of the Mexican Army toward Texas had been determined on in consequence of advices which had been received from England--and it is argued from this fact, that Great Britain has encouraged the Mexican Government in assuming a hostile attitude toward the United States. A short time will tell whether this inference is correct or whether it is erroneous.
