Horrid Occurrence.—The daughter of one of the most respectable families in an adjoining county, about 13 years of age, was enticed from her father's house on Monday night, the 16th ultimo, by a negro fellow, the slave of the father, at least thirty years old. They took off two horses from the stable, with which they attempted to make their escape to unknown parts. The whole neighborhood were aroused and in pursuit next morning, but did not overtake them until Friday last, when they overtook and secured the scoundrel. This infamous wretch was, we understand, taken in the neighborhood of Greenville. But the poor girl was beyond recovery. We forbear comments upon so revolting an occurrence.—Montgomery (Ala.) Jour.
