Explosion. - The editors of the Journal of Commerce have been favored with the following extract of a letter, dated Wilmington, August 25, 1832.

This morning a great explosion, shaking the houses almost like an earthquake, announced the destruction of part of Dupont's powder mill. The first shock was succeeded by two slighter ones. Many persons were soon seen galloping out of the scene of destruction. J. G. will no doubt learn the particulars while he is out, and will give them.

P. S. It was one of the buildings of the lower works that was destroyed. Two men were killed and one other hurt.
