NEW YORK, Aug. 7.-Albert
Lewis, New York theatrical producer and 21 directors, authors and actors have been signed by the Fox
Film corporation to work in Movietone productions-the first major
raid made by talkies into the legitimate theatrical field.
Eugene Walter, Tom Barry, Edwin
Burk, Edmond Joseph and Dave
Stamper are the writers signed by
Fox.
Among the actors are Chic Sale,
Clark and McCullough, Lumsden
Hare, Gilbert Emery, Clifford
Dempsey, Sylvia Field, Ben Holmes,
Arnold Lucy, Helen Twelvetrees and
Paul Fung.
Donald Gallagher, Marcel Silver,
Earl Lewis, McGill and Charles Judels were among the directors signed.
"An entertainment revolution is
in progress," Lewis said. In a
short time dramatists will be writing for the screen and adapting
their works for stage production.
