Full Text
Mr. Axel Johnson, Supt. of the S. S. at Big Springs, moved into his new house a few miles west of town, last Monday, and in the evening a large circle of his friends, and especially his Sunday School associates, surprised him with a visit and brought with them as a token of their regard and appreciation of his services, a number of valuable presents. We were in Mr. Moore's furniture store when their committee purchased a handsome marble-top bureau, a large and commodious kitchen safe and other articles. which were some of the tokens of good will, presented to him on that occasion. We had hoped to get a full report of this gathering for the benefit of our readers, but failed to do so in proper season. The COMMERCIAL is greatly pleased to notice this testimonial to Mr. Johnson. We have known him as boy and man these many years; we have known his high personal character, his unswerving devotion to principle, and the manly, straightforward way in which he conducts the Sabbath School, and we join his many friends in the wish that he may long continue in his position of responsibility and usefulness.-Hawarden Commercial.
