NEW-YORK, March 9.

Last Monday Evening, Capt. Collins, late of the Schooner Sally, of this Port, arrived here by Land from Quebec, which Place he left the 7th of February last: informs us, That the River at Quebec had not been shut up this Winter; but that in general it had been a pretty mild Winter there: That the Forces in the Garrison of Quebec and Montreal were in good Health, and Provisions plenty: And that there was great Friendship between the Indians and the English. Capt. Collins, was bound to Quebec, but was cast away the 9th Day of November last, in a violent Snow Storm, on the North Shore, a few Leagues above the Island of Bic, upon entering the River: the Vessel was lost, but the Captain and Men saved: He says the Indians told him of a large Schooner, belonging for Boston, being cast away the same Time as he was, about 9 or 10 Leagues lower, but he could not learn the Name of either Vessel or Master.
