Polish - Lithuanian Controversy to Be Amicably Settled

GENEVA. Dec. 10—Peace or war was the question Premier Pilsudski asked Premier Waldemares, of Lithuania, at a secret session of the Council of the League of Nations at which an agreement "in principle" was reached on the Polish-Lithuanian controversy.

Premier Waldemaras looked the Polish leader in the eye and answered: "It is peace."

Then the two statesmen undertook certain reciprocal engagements to guarantee a peaceful settlement of the controversy which caused tension in the Baltic States and all of Europe.
