The Atlanta university summer school will hold its closing exercises next Friday in the assembly room of Giles hall, with President Florence M. Reed of Spelman college as the speaker. Other special activities for the closing week will be lectures on Monday and Wednesday mornings by Dr. W. E. B. DuBois, editor of Crisis and guest professor of Atlanta university, and a community program by the Recreation school tomorrow evening at 7:30 o'clock in Howe Memorial hall, Spelman campus.
The summer school this year has offered several features that are unique in this section of the country, including a progressive education school under the direction of Miss Helen Garrett, director of the Mount Kemble School of Morris-town, New Jersey, a five week recreation school sponsored by the Recreation League of America; a four-week Ministers' Institute, and a demonstration one-teacher school.
The recreation school, which opened June 26, will continue through July 28. The Ministers' Institute closed July 7, and a two week rural institute which has been held in connection with the summer school will close tomorrow. Other activities will continue through Friday, July 21.
