The Magistrates of this City having been informed, that on Wednesday the 14th of this Month, a young Lady, only fifteen Years old, was taken away, and the Author of the Rape was a Stranger, about thirty, or thirty-five Years old, who went by the Name of the Count de Gotleben, have thought proper not to suffer such an enormous Crime to go unpunished; and as the Burghers of the City are very much interested in Affairs of this Nature, they have offered a Reward of six thousand Florins, which will be paid by the Treasurer of the City, to any Person who will bring the Ravisher to Punishment, besides three thousand Florins for any of his Accomplices. But, if any one of his Accomplices will give Information, the Magistrates promise not only to pay him the three thousand Florins, but also to intercede in his Favour, to obtain an Act of Indemnification, and to keep his Name and Quality as an inviolable Secret. This Publication has been put up in the accustomed Places, and they have begun to take such Measures, as they are in Hopes of bringing the Author to a speedy Punishment.
