We are also informed, That there is not likely to be any Alteration with Respect to the Duty upon Molasses. The Ministry choose first to have some Experiment of its Efficacy. It was affirmed by one of the Advocates for that Duty, that it would produce a very great Sum, at least Sixty Thousand Pounds; and that he was credibly informed, that in six Months from the Commencement of the Act, there had been collected at Boston 14,000 and at Charlestown 10,000 Sterl. This Information must be wrong, as it is well known here that during that Space the whole Collection did not exceed 1400 Sterl. The Truth of which the Nation will soon be convinced of.
