In Scotland, the present year, apples have been at the same price as potatoes. They have also been uncommonly abundant in England. The cider harvest in Devonshire has been the greatest known for many years. One farmer made between 5 and 600 hogsheads! 72 bushels of barley have been gathered from one acre and a few rods of land in Sussex.

Apples, of the description called Nonesuch, were so plentiful at Newark, in England, the beginning of September, that they were hawked about the streets at 4d per peck.
