Hung be these College walls in gloom,
Let grateful Science weep,
While memory leads us to the tomb,
Where Ewing's ashes sleep,
Suspend a while each ruder strain of joy.
Let gratitude each thought and voice employ.
No more his tender care, fond youth,
Will he o'er you extend ;
No more, amidst the paths of truth,
You'll meet on earth that Friend
Then pay that tribute which to him is due
Remember him who laboured here for you.
5. A Latin Salutatory Oration, by Mr. Fox.

What tho' I trace each herb and flower,
That drink the morning dew;
Did I not own Jehovah's power,
How vain were all I knew?
Say what's the rest, but empty boast?
The flaunting weeds display;
Who, having all the substance lost,
Attempts to grasp a name.
13. The Charge, by the Vice Provost.
14. An address to the Medical Graduates, by Dr. Barton, Dean to the Medical Professors.

Come ever smiling Liberty,
And with thee bring thy jocund train;

With whom eternal pleasures reign.
