Quite an audience of happy-faced
smiling children gathered in the Baptist
Church yesterday afternoon to listen to
the lecture of Miss McAvoy on "Slang."
The lecture was very bright and chatty
and couched in language suited to the
capacity of the youthful auditors. The
speaker forcibly reprehended the ineli-
gance of using slang, and pleasantly point-
ed out common verbal inaccuracies. The
lecture was interspersed with many pleas-
ant anecdotes that enforced truths and
delighted the juvenile auditors.
