Full Text

LONDON, April 25.

An article in the Havana Gazette, of the 4th April, says—

"We hear this instant, that the French general before Mentz, has sent a trumpeter to the Austrians, with a message, informing them of the arrival of a courier from Paris, with orders to the French army to discontinue entirely all hostilities; and that the same line of conduct was of course to be expected to be followed by the Germans." We know that since the 4th, there have been several acts of hostility before Mentz; and we translate the above article, merely as an instance of the general disposition to believe every rumor of peace, a strong presumption of the general wish for it.
