Yesterday arrived here Capt. Briant in 17 Days from Montserrat, who informs, that a few Days before he left that Place, they had Intelligence, of a Letter of Marque Ship of 24 Carriage Guns and 60 Men belonging to Bristol, being taken by two French Frigates of 26 Guns each, and carried into Martinico; and that they had no Account of Capt. Lewis's being taken two Days before he came away as mention'd in our last.

Capt. Hills from St. Eustatia in 23 Days informs, That the Hertford Privateer of this Port was not taken as has been reported, but that it was one Capt. Lewis in a Letter of Marque, bound from Bristol to the West-Indies, as describ'd by Capt. Briant above.
