BEFORE ELECTION

Many a front gate
Nice man-
Candidate.
Smiles sweet,
Bows low,
Takes seat,
Won't go.
Eats bread,
Eats pies,
Eats meat,
Tells lies.
Kisses baby,
Praises sis,
Calls granny
"Young miss."
Pats Towser,
Fondles cat,
Tells dad,
"Stand pat.
I'm runnin'
Away ahead.
All others
I'm dead
Sure 'lected
This pop:
Way yonder
On top.
My name?
John Ray,
Help me
'Lection day.
Pretty baby!
Whoop hi!
"R'member me,
Good bye."

AFTER ELECTION.

Flew by
Front gate
Nice man-
Candidate.
Don't smile,
Don't speak
Flies by-
Blue streak.
Politics
All briars,
Says men
All liars.
Goes home,
Sheds tear,
Fixes for
Next year.
