PLANE NOW HALF WAY TO HAWAII
Giant Seaplane Has Covered 1,100 Miles; One Falls 300 Miles Out At Sea

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 1. -
The navy seaplane PN-1 attempting a non-stop flight from San Francisco to Hawaii, had completed more than half of its journey of 1,100 nautical miles at 6 o'clock this morning.

With half of its voyage to Hawaii completed, the flagship of the two seaplanes, which took off from San Francisco Bay was winging its way westward today. The other plane was afloat on the surface of the Pacific ocean 300 miles from Frisco, with the Destroyer William Jones standing by to take the disabled plane in tow.
